Curriculum preview · applications closed

This page introduces the proposed model curriculum. Teaching arrangements, faculty, dates, fees and final admission requirements will be confirmed before applications open.

Study with understanding and purpose

The proposed two-year online pathway brings together foundational Islamic disciplines, spiritual development, family life and responsible engagement with contemporary questions. Its four semesters contain 24 subjects and an integrative portfolio and capstone.

Who is the model designed for?

The proposed audience is learners aged 16 and above with basic general education and an interest in systematic Islamic learning, including students, working adults, parents and teachers. Basic Qur’an reading is desirable; bridging support is proposed. Advanced Arabic and a previous formal Islamic-studies qualification are not prerequisites in the model.

Final eligibility and arrangements for learners aged 16–17 will be published before applications open.

Proposed study format

  • Duration: two years across four semesters.
  • Live learning: a proposed six hours of instruction each week, supported by self-paced study and applied portfolios.
  • Language: Malayalam-supported explanations, Arabic terminology and source texts, with selected English resources.
  • Access: an internet-connected device for live sessions and the learning platform. The timetable and weekly independent-study workload will be confirmed.

What the curriculum aims to develop

  • Understanding of selected Qur’anic passages and Prophetic teachings through introductory source-study methods.
  • Foundational Sunni belief and Shafi‘i worship practice, with responsible referral of questions beyond introductory study.
  • Guided reading of short Arabic source passages and responsible use of learning resources.
  • Reflection, adab and application to family, relationships and everyday responsibilities.
  • An integrative portfolio and capstone connecting knowledge, reflection and practice.
